Our Agents community involvement

While we are all being affected in some way by the Coronavirus, our agents have found time to volunteer and help the Port Aransas community.

Michele Lorette has been volunteering for 10 years for various organizations. “I did meals on wheels for ten years. I took a break about 6 months ago, and am helping now with the Food Pantry because of the need. Great group of people that run the Pantry!” say Michele. In some ways, the virus has brought people together, while we are all staying apart.

The Helping Hands food pantry is opened for all residents of Port Aransas every Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Social distancing is being practiced and distribution of the goods is taking place outside in the parking lot behind the Presbyterian church on 113 S. Alister St.

Keith McMullin helped establish “New Day Port A” and served on the Board Of Directors. The New Day Port A Fund concluded its two-year long hurricane recovery effort with a final donation of $100,000 to four Port Aransas churches. The fund was an initiative of the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau that was formed in conjunction with Cinnamon Shore in response to Hurricane Harvey. The foundation distributed $2,465,000 to Port Aransas residents, small businesses and non-profit organizations.
